By sheer radar (my favorite way to explore) I was in the right turn only lane coming up to Kings Ave on 60. Glancing up I noticed BAMBOO SALON on the signage and decided to follow the turn and check it out. Tucked away in the strip mall I found it. Opening the door, I was pleasantly surprised at the decor which was unexpected, calm, trendy, exciting and soothing at the same time. A little shocked, I asked for cards and menu’s for my new directory. The owner of the salon was busy doing a manicure but answered my questions and indicated where I could find what I needed. She was very gracious as was her client.
Now, normally I would get a service before blogging about a place, but here’s what happened:
I continued on my way to visit some more salons, after which I stopped into the Publix on Kingsway for a refresher. In produce I saw a woman with the most beautiful shoulder length gray hair with wonderful gradations of color with a perfect cut for her face. She looked like Blythe Danner but more attractive if you can believe that, more oval in face and wider eyes. Normally I’m excruciatingly shy, but a side effect of my mission apparently is a new found boldness. I blurted out how beautiful she looked and how her hair is perfect for her. She was very happy and stated she had just come from BAMBOO SALON & SPA! She told me the color is God given but the style was a change after short hair for many years. She pulled her cart over and gave me a glowing review and history of her interactions with Bamboo’s owner.
So, serendipity has chosen my first post because seriously, what are the odds of such a positive encounter?
